Ovarian Cysts: Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment

Ovarian cysts are little size sacs filled with fluid that appear inside the ovaries of a woman. There are majority of the ovarian cysts that are not dangerous but some can cause problems including pain, rupturing and bleeding. In order to remove cysts, doctors recommend surgery. Now the question is that how these cysts develop in women’s ovaries.

Normally, women contain two ovaries that perform functionality of storing and also releasing eggs. Each ovary has a walnut size and one ovary is present of both sides of uterus. Each ovary is capable to produce single egg in one month and this as a result begins the menstrual cycle of women each month. Follicle is a sac in which the eggs are enclosed. An egg produces in women’s ovary before starting estrogen and then it forces uterus to generate itself for egg. In response to this process, the uterus lining starts to increase their thickness and prepare to implant the fertilized egg that causes the pregnancy. This complete cycle happens in every month and mostly it stops till there is no sign of egg to fertilize. In case, the egg is not fertilized, the uterus contents start to expel. This is known as a menstrual period.
